Do you love coffee? Have you tried cold brew coffee yet?
Cold brew coffee is becoming quite popular. I see more and more coffee joints offering it. And there’s some awesome reasons why! Let’s talk about those now!
Side Note: I’ve included links, for your convenience, to see the products that I’m talking about. Enjoy! 😍
Benefits of cold brew coffee.
It is said that cold brew coffee is easier on your digestive system than hot brewed coffee. Cold brew coffee is more alkaline and less toxic than traditional coffees, and if done right, will provide much more sustained energy with less crashing.
Woohoo! Who doesn’t want that?!? Plus, it tastes better!
Homemade cold pressed coffee made from fresh organic coffee beans.
Making cold brew coffee is super easy to make!
Plus, it makes a big batch, and that gives you freedom! Time freedom that is, because it’ll already be ready for you. You won’t have to make a fresh batch every day. Yay! A few extra minutes. What could you do with a few extra minutes?!? 🤔 I can certainly think of a few. Can you?
This is a very concentrated form of coffee! Another woohoo!!
Cold brew is said to contain about 4x more caffeine than traditional brewed hot coffee. So be careful not to drink too much at a time. I typically add 1, sometimes 2 ounces of my cold brew coffee to my drink mixes.
How do you drink this powerhouse?!?
You’ll only need 1-2 ounces, trust me, you’ll feel it! It’s great over ice with some organic whole milk (or homemade organic nut milks) or a tablespoon of organic whipping cream. If you need to sweeten it up a bit, I love adding a teaspoon of pure organic maple syrup. Or if you want to change the flavor completely, add some organic caramel syrup or organic chocolate syrup. Mix and enjoy!
For an exercise boost, I love 1-2 ounces mixed with some raw organic milk and chocolate protein powder. Mmmm!
If you prefer a hot cup!
Pour your 1-2 ounces into a mug and add warm, not hot, purified water. You won’t want to ruin the great benefits of cold brew by heating it up to much.
A word of caution from my soapbox. 😀
Please do not use a coffee creamer such as CoffeeMate in your coffee!! These creamers are extremely toxic, and very very flammable and should never be consumed! For real! Check out this video!! If you have this popular coffee creamer, or any others like it, please throw it away right now. Don’t consume any more.
Use organic whole milk or organic heavy whipping cream as your creamer. You can use a variety of things to flavor if you’d like. As I mentioned above, my favorite is a little organic maple syrup, but you can use xylitol, butter, honey, organic vanilla, organic almond extract, organic chocolate sauce or organic caramel sauce. Get creative, but please don’t use chemicals!
What you’ll want to get.

I personally use the Filtron and love it. I also have 4 of these glass decanters (Carafe’s) for storing my cold brew. If you want to label the carafe’s, I love chalk board paint! You can paint a shape, let it dry, and you’re ready to write the date you brewed, or if you make a couple of different types, you can label which one is which.
If you don’t have a coffee grinder…
I would like to suggest you get yourself one! Coffee is so much better when it’s ground fresh. And, it makes your house smell so yummy! I use this one. It’s so easy to use and does a great job.
My personal suggestions!
The directions will come with your coffee maker and it is very easy to make. I sometimes like to add ½ cup of organic vanilla extract to my water that the coffee soaks in. I also sometimes add about ½ cup of raw organic cocoa powder to my coffee grounds for a little extra cocoa flavor.
The mysteries of cold brew coffee revealed! 😉 As you can see, it’s super simple and will even give you back a few minutes each day. Maybe affirmations or a self care activity can fill in the gaps! hehe! Please leave me a comment below, and share your favorite way to drink your cold brew coffee. I’d love some additional variety!
