What you clean your home with is affecting your health.
If you’re using standard cleaning products from your local grocery or hardware store, you’re breathing in and being exposed to large amounts of toxic chemicals every single day. That’s scary right? However, there are some more natural brands, but they tend to be quite a bit more expensive. Today, I’m going to give you inexpensive options to naturally clean your home. Without cleanliness compromise. Yay!
The nitty gritty.
But first, a little bit of information about the chemicals in those cleaning supplies. Often times cleaning products don’t list their ingredients, or worse yet, you’d have to be a chemist to understand what all of those words are. Reading labels is important, and not just for food anymore.
Household cleaners have chemical ingredients that cause serious conditions such as asthma and other breathing problems. Many of these cleaners contain preservatives that release low levels of cancer causing formaldehyde. All of these chemicals, of course, cause poisoning if ingested, skin irritations, burns, allergies and many other health conditions.
It’s sad that companies are allowed to use such harmful ingredients in their products. But, I have some great natural and healthy options for you! You can protect yourself and your family from toxic household cleaner chemicals.
So what do we do?!?
In our home we use a combination of homemade and purchased natural cleaners. Included here are some links to a few of the products we use, for those that don’t want to hassle with making their own.
I’m including a few recipes for our favorite homemade cleaners! After all, saving money is good for everyone. 🙂
