I was thinking about you! Self lovin’ body scrub anyone? 😜
And, I decided that you needed another yummy body scrub! You’re going to love this one! So, here it is! Inspired by my Cold Brew Coffee post. I whipped up a delicious batch of Vanilla Coffee Body Scrub that you’re just going to love! I don’t like to waste, so this is perfect. No wasting those coffee grounds, lets put them to good use!
This body scrub will make your skin soft and silky smooth, and it smells so super yummy! My hubs says it smells like chocolate!
Ground coffee is said to have some amazing benefits too, including, but don’t hold me to it, 😉 reducing the appearance of cellulite. And if you’re anything like me… That’s a good thing!
Body scrubs are expensive…
Especially when you purchase healthy products like I do without harmful chemicals and additives. However, this was so super easy, that you just can’t pass up the opportunity to whip up a batch, or few, for yourself, right now!
This scrub is so super simple.
This Vanilla Coffee Body Scrub only takes a couple of minutes to make, and you can give it away to ladies in your life that deserve a bit of pampering as well. What woman doesn’t need a little pamper love?!?
A little note about my scrub recipe before we get started. 😊
I don’t like my scrubs super oily. They get messy that way, and… To be honest, I’m a bit accident prone. I don’t need any extra help slipping in the shower, plus… High end scrubs… Just aren’t. So… This scrub is light and airy and just super yummy delicious love on your skin.
You’ll feel like you just bought spa quality scrub-a-licious!
But, you’ll make it for just a few bucks.
In the shower, save it for the last step.
I love to get all of my stuff done in the shower and save my scrubbin’ until the end. Applying the scrub as your last step will leave your skin so very silky smooth, and it’ll leave the oils on your skin and increase the availability of the fabulous benefits! Woohoo! Don’t wash the benefits away. Just pat dry and mmmm!
A word about carrier oil.
You can use all kinds of oils for your scrub. I have chosen to make my scrubs with food grade organic avocado oil because… Well, it’s food! And I believe you shouldn’t put anything on your body if you wouldn’t put it in your mouth. If you haven’t read the my post about healthy oils, check it out! Here…
And second, avocado oil doesn’t smell. And when I’m mixing up a yummy something for my body, I don’t what to fight with trying to cover up the scent of the carrier oil. So, organic avocado oil it is.
Besides, it’s such a super healthy fat, and it only takes 26 second to absorb through our skin. So, let’s take in a bit more healthy fats!
Here’s what you’ll need:
1/2 Cup of Medium Himalayan Salt
½ Cup of Ground Organic Coffee – use the grounds from your Organic Cold Brew Coffee
2 Tablespoons Organic Avocado Oil
1 tsp Vanilla Essential Oil
Note: If you’re using the Medium Himalayan Salt crystals as suggested above: I put it into a ziplock baggie and crush it a little. I use a meat tenderizer for this or you can use a wooden spoon. You can use the ground Himalayan Salt, but the scrub will dissolve more quickly and I prefer my crystals to last a bit longer for a great scrubbing and massage effect. In the pictures, I used fine ground Himalayan salt and I prefer it to be a bit chunkier. 😜
In a small mixing bowl, add avocado oil and vanilla essential oil, mix.
Add Himalayan salt and coffee grounds, and mix it up. Viola! All done!
Store in a glass jar with a lid or put in cutie glass containers for gifts. A little note on this, if your jar has a metal lid, it will rust in the shower.
That’s it! Easy peasy!
In a hot shower, step out of the stream of water. Scoop up about ¼ cup in to a cupped hand and apply to the area you want to scrub, keeping your hand cupped, apply to skin in circular motions applying a decent amount of pressure. I like to go in a circular motion and then reverse my circles to really get the friction of the salt going. This stimulates circulation and blood flow as well.
What do you think? Did you love the scrub?
